1. Shalimar Restaurant: one of the best restaurants located in the heart of the Tenderloin, San Francisco. In fact, it is the one that started the food history of Tenderloin district “Because of the strength of a single restaurant, Shalimar, multiple halal restaurants have now pushed the area from being down and out into possessing a booming food industry, solely on the back of the Muslim food dollar,” said Shahed Amanullah, who founded Zabinhah.com.

2. Tikka Masala: A taste of India and Pakistan in downtown San Francisco and a gateway to superb indian and Pakistani cuisine. They invite you to stop by, once you come in, you just sit back, relax and enjoy your visit, and they will do the rest for you.
3. Kabana Restaurant: It is a decent place if you are looking to have good food. They have both the Paratha and Na’an to help you start your meal. Kabana has become one of the favorite places in many people’s mind. Here is the slogan: “Just come once and the taste will bring you back.”

4. Julie's Café: Very close to the Cal, it is a popular Halal food restaurant for Berkeley students. At Julie’s Café, they also offer a combination of Turkish, American and Thai food.

- "It's going to be a great, big cultural event -- something that has not happened before in Newark or the Bay Area," said Imam, whose accounting business is across the street from the festival's location. "People from all faiths are invited."
- "The only difference between the festival's food and restaurants' food is the type of meat available," he said.
- "It will give Muslims some exposure in the community and it's a chance for people from different faiths to get to know one another."
- "We are blessed to live in this area," he said. "Muslims are dying and suffering oppression in Egypt, Syria... and other places."
